For Sale at Itty Bitty Critter Farm
| Home | The Girls | The Boys | For Sale | Scrapbook | FYI |
Itty Bitty Critter Farm goats are dairy goats so they will not be sold for meat. We want them to go to good homes only! A good home is one that provides all the following: another caprine companion (goats are social creatures and need other goats around them); a clean, dry, protected shelter (goats don't like to be wet!); fresh water, good quality hay and minerals; secure fencing to keep goats in and wandering dogs out; a large enough area to run, jump, and play (goat toys are a bonus - things to climb on like old spools or children's picnic tables, even stumps); a safe environment free of hazardous materials (this includes poisonous plants - be familiar with this list, especially yard flowers and plants); regular worming (we use herbal wormer) and health care; routine hoof trimming; but most of all...lots of love and attention! Also, find a veterinarian that knows goats (not all vets do). See our F.Y.I. page for more information. Although we originally only sold breeding stock and pet quality animals, we have now added registered stock to our family.
Each and every one of our breedings are planned. Bucks and does are kept separate to ensure the intended kidding, dates in which to expect babies, to monitor the doe and help with kidding issues, and to dip naval cords. We put a lot of time into each individual choice, choosing the best buck for each doe, whether it be for show quality and milking, or even just a weed eater or pet. We care about each and every one of our babies. We're striving not only to improve our herd but to improve the breed as well.
We play with all our babies to make sure they are used to being handled. This makes it much easier when it comes to hoof trimming and medicine time. Matter of fact, all our babies are a wee bit spoiled.

Nigerian Dwarf Buckling born 03/07/11 - Twin to Buster Brown
Dam: Baby Jr./Sire: IttyBitCrit Farm Charcoal (Charlie) Spunky is a long-haired, black and white buckling that looks nothing like his twin brother. Most of his body is black. He has white on three of his feet with just a small amount of black on one of those. One of his front feet is black with just a small amount of white on it. His tail is white with a black spot on it. The white on his sides extends up his body into a point almost identical on both sides with a small black dot on each panel. There is a small white patch on top his head. He has pink skin underneath all that hair and has white hooves. Bet they don't stay white long once he gets out into all this mud. He has dark eyes that are sometimes appearing dark gray and other times appearing dark brown. Because his face is black all around his eyes, it is hard to find them in his face. He too is very friendly but a little more on the ornery side. You can see the wheels turning in his head, appearing to be thinking "what can I get into next?". He is available now. |

Nigerian Dwarf Doeling born 03/20/11 - Twin to Shadow
Dam: Spicebush Farm Minxy/Sire: IttyBitCrit Farm Dr. Ringen Ginger is one of those goats that her front half and her back half are two different colors. Brown with black detailing on her front; black with brown detailing on her back. She has brown eyes. She is more outgoing than Shadow, being the firstborn, I guess she takes that to heart and likes being the aggressor. This sweet little thing, so tiny, does not pull any punches. She can get right in the middle of the fight and hold her own. Because she is a doeling from Dr. Ringen who is no longer with us, she will be retained. |

Nigerian Dwarf Buckling born 03/20/11 - Twin to Ginger
Dam: Spicebush Farm Minxy/Sire: IttyBitCrit Farm Dr. Ringen Shadow looks just like his grandpa: black with that white tuft on his head. He has chocolate brown eyes. His personality is very unassuming., very laid back. This one will be a very gentle buck. He doesn't have to worry about being strong and outgoing, he has an older sister that will do it for him. He loves sitting in your lap, or being cuddled but he definitely wants attention. Like his mama and sister, he too is extremely small. He has now developed a white dorsal stripe, making him look a little bit too much like a skunk! He will be available any time after May 20th. |

Nigerian Dwarf Doeling born 03/24/11 - Single
Dam: Maggie/Sire: Frosty Although Cupcake is basically white, she has these patches of charcoal grey that sneaks in here and there. The hair started out really curly (like her mama's baby pictures, matter of fact, she looks like mama's baby pics), but is getting longer and straighter as she gets older. There's a big circle on top of her head and another spot along her spine about where her withers are. It looks like she has dirty on her back. But if you look really close, it's like she has a broken dorsal stripe. She has little splashes of grey on her feet but sometimes they can be mistaken for her hooves. The inside corners of her eyes and bridge of her nose start forming her eyebrows that start to look like her mama's except they only extend half way around the top of her blue eyes. Her personality was very shy at first, but they almost always seem to overcome that. I guess if you don't want to be low man on that pecking order list, you'd better get over it. She likes to paw or nibble on your clothing to get your attention. At first she wasn't crazy about being held but once she figured out that's where the good stuff is, like rubbing, and treats and extra grain, she definitely changed her mind pretty fast. We have not decided at this time if we are going to keep her or sell her. I guess we will wait and see but she will not be available until around the beginning of June 2011 anyway. If you are interested in her, please let me know and I will keep you in mind should we finally make up our minds. |

Nigerian Dwarf Doeling born 04/03/11 - Twin to My Little Chipmunk
Dam: Penny/Sire: IttyBitCrit Farm Lightning This little Precious gal struggled from the minute she was born. It took us over 6 hours to get her on her feet and she never did really thrive. Because her mama had an emergency situation going on, she and her sister were bottle babies. I decided to name her Satin because her hair was super shiny black with frosted ears and nose; and of course, our famous white tuft on her head. Sadly, she only lived for 3 days. We will miss you, baby girl. |

Nigerian Dwarf Doeling born 04/03/11 - Twin to Satin
Dam: Penny/Sire: IttyBitCrit Farm Lightning She is a bottle baby because of an emergency with her mama. When it came to naming this little girl, nothing came to mind at first. Because she makes this pitiful little sound that is supposed to be a scream, I thought of her as My Little Chipmunk. So I just call her Monki. Now, I know that Monki is not a girly name (and Gary hates it), but if you saw her, you would understand. She is our hyper child this time around. She's just a regular old tom boy so girly does not fit. She climbs, she jumps, she romps and stomps; she pulls hair; she even screams when to let us know she's ready for her bottle. Her coloring is hard to describe. She has three-colored hairs - each hair starts out black, turns to tan or cream along the way with a big cream/white spot on her side, that famous white tuft, black eyebrows, frosted ears and black boots. She also has a little bit of barely-there reddish tint on her legs and around her head. |

Half Nigerian Dwarf Buckling born 04/27/11 - Twin to Martees
Dam: Sassy/Sire: Snowball/Snowflake Ever since we've started having babies on our farm, Gary has wanted to name a boy Wally. Because he had waddles, Gary finally got his wish and we have a boy named Wally. When he was first born, I didn't notice that his face has a triangle of grey surrounding by a triangle of white but all the pictures caught this. He has a darker dorsal stripe running down his back and has light chocolate brown eyes. This little guy is super friendly. While sister is shy, he is outgoing and forward, wanting to be petted as much as the older babies. He will come up behind you and paw on your gently, or nibble on your clothing just to get your attention. He loves being held (of course, this won't last long as he's only half Nigerian and will get bigger). Wally loves playing with all the other babies. Because he is only half Nigerian Dwarf, he should not be used for breeding Nigerians or Pygmies. He will be available any time toward the end of June. Two of is grandmothers were heavy milk producers so he should carry genes for this as well (see information below on Martees' info). |

Half Nigerian Dwarf Doeling born 04/27/11 - Twin to Wally
Dam: Sassy/Sire: Snowball/Snowflake When our family talks about Wal-Mart, it is usually Wal-Mar-Tees. Since this little girl's brother is named Wally (as in Wally World), her name just had to be Martees. Yeah, her name will eventually be changed, but for now, this is just what I call her. I'm still thinking about what a good name for her would be. She is basically very light grey with patches of white on her feet, her nose and the base of her ears. She has a darker dorsal stripe running down her back also but her eyes are an odd color. Sometimes you look at them and they appear grey. At other times, they appear light brown. I guess time will tell. Martees is basically very shy but she's decided that petting is pretty good. She is not fond of being held and is still unsure about you getting "in her space", but if you approach her gently, talking to her as you move slowly, she doesn't run to mama. She is definitely a mama baby, hanging out with mama while Wally is out playing with all the other boys and girls. She will be available any time toward the end of June. She comes from good milking lines as both her grandmothers (Daisy and Reba) had lots of milk. Daisy had a huge bag and Reba, although we never milked her to see what quantity she gave, she supported several sets of quads without any supplementation. Although she is only half nigerian, Martees should carry genes from both sides and be an excellent milker. |

Lil' Sweetheart, also known as Lily or Lil, is solid black with just a small white patch on top of her head and she has blue eyes. She is a precious little thing that isn't first in line, but by no means is she ever last. Although she is somewhat timid, she loves being cuddled and petted. Actually, she has started coming out of her shell and it becoming more forward. She's seen the light -- if you want anything around here, you better be outspoken! |

Charcoal is solid black with brown eyes. Charlie, as we like to call him, is the ring leader of this group babies. He is very bold and inquisitive, does not appear to be afraid of anything. Lightning is black with that same white little blob on his head and he has brown eyes. Because things got so hectic with bottle babies in the house, bad weather outside, just all kinds of stuff going on, poor little Lightning was not introduced to the love and support he should have been when he was born. He was not as friendly as most of our babies -- at first. But he's slowly come around. He really likes feed time. He got that one figured out really quick! Matter of fact, he and Doc both give kisses. |

Herd Sires Available!
We need to find special homes for our older Boys. They are ready to become your herd sire -- our girls are related, so we need to find them new homes. We have some really good looking bucks, both registered and nonregistered. Take a look and give us a call. Our bucks are easily handled and are just as spoiled as our girls are. We even have a couple who like to give kisses -- whether you want them or not (sometimes it's a definite "not" -- and fall is one of tnose "not" times). Although all of them are dam raised and are just big ol' pets, any one of them would make excellent herd sires. .
We reserve the right to retain any animal, and we also reserve the right
to refuse to sell to what we believe would not be a good home.
Please note that some of the pictures on our For Sale page are not the greatest. Guess my goaties are just not photogenic -- or maybe it's just the photographer? Let me know if you want to see other pictures of any of our animals. Most of my photos are already uploaded to Snapfish. You will need a login account but Snapfish is free.

![]() |
(Possibly) Alpine/Nubian Cross Doe born 02/18/08 (twin to Sox)
Dam: Daisy / Sire: BigUn Sassy is mostly black with white "socks" on each foot. She has white stripes on her face around her eyes as well as her mouth. There is quite a bit of light brown on her, especially on her face. She is also very friendly but is more reserved. After she had given birth to her first babies, she became a very overprotective mother. She and Trouble are the only goats we have left that are not Nigerian. She's lonely without her mama here and needs to go to a good home. Sassy as a baby is pictured on the left in the first picture with her brother Sox on the right. As of 08/19/2011, she is still in milk, but I will stop milking at the end of this month (August). If you are interested in her for milking purposes now, you'd better act quickly. Can't really tell you how much milk she gives as her daughter refuses to give up the faucets and we have no place to go with her to wean as the boys are in the weaning pen. She is very patient at the milk stand and gets really excited about her treats afterwards (raisins, pretzels, animal crackers). Just watch out for those fingers if you don't deliver quick enough! |

Pricing
We ask that you come to the farm to see the animals before purchasing them. Our pricing structure is based on quality of animals with all animals being picked up at our farm as we do not ship. At this time, we do not accept deposits on animals via email.
Nigerian Dwarf goats do not have a specific breeding season as some breeds of goats do. Our breeding is staggered throughout the year so there may be kids available at any given time, although our kids will not be for sale until they are at least two to three months of age. We don't have a waiting list but we'll do our very best to keep our Sales Page up to date including expected due dates. If you are looking for something special, let us know, especially if it is a buck. It is best to email us with your request.
Once a decision is made to buy an animal, we will ask for half the purchase price as a deposit until pick-up arrangements can be made. The balance will be due prior to the time of pick-up.
If we don't have the perfect animal for you, we'd be happy to refer you to someone else who might. Also, look at our Girls and Boys page. See something there you like? Just contact us. We may have something for sale that is not listed.
A health certificate is required for transportation out of the state of Missouri. For importation requirements for your state, go to USDA APHIS Veterinary web site [http://www.aphis.usda.gov/import_export/animals/animal_import/animal_imports_states.shtml].
After The Sale
Along with the purchase of one of our kids, we will gladly supply new owners with a history of each animal that includes all medications that the animal has received as well as multiple resources and ongoing support. If needed, we'll demonstrate how to trim hooves, test for worms and if you choose to give your own immunizations, we'll also demonstrate giving an injection. We'll always be here for you, answering any questions you have and assist you any way possible. We strongly encourage new owners to learn about caring for goats before taking their new friends home.
As with other animals, caring for a goat involves commitment throughout the lifetime of the animal. Goats are intelligent, affectionate and entertaining creatures that will reward you with many years of companionship and delicious milk if properly cared for. If you are unwilling to invest in, or are financially unable to provide adequate shelter, nutrition and veterinary care, then goat ownership is NOT for you.
Please feel free to ask questions - we love talking goats!
